On Monday we went to Tragumna Beach with Jim and Maria Kennedy. First we learnt about the different types of seaweed and tasted some samples. Next we explored the rockpools and collected samples of life in them. On the way back we collected any waste from the seashore. Back in the classroom we started working on our projects which will be on display in Skibbereen in May.

We made butter.
After reading about how to make butter in our English book, we decided to have a go at making some ourselves. We used glass jars and cream. After a lot of shaking a lump of butter formed in our jars. Then we drained the buttermilk and washed the butter to remove any leftover butter milk. We brought our butter home for our families to taste and they said it tasted very good.
