GAA Skills training has resumed again on Tuesdays. Today was our first session. We are continuing to build on the skills we learned last year and having lots of fun.

Visit by Garda Don Davis
Today we had a visit from Garda Don Davis. He told us all about the role of the GardaĆ in keeping us safe. We also got a chance to ask him lots of questions.

Safety on the Road
This week is Safety Week in school
Today we learnt about safety on the road. We did the Safe Cross Code Song and added in the actions.

We know the code!!! We played the game of roads and arrows . |
We received Hi Glo Silver certificates and took the pledge to wear reflective clothing and to make sure others do the same.

Science experiment- Fun with Marbles
The theme of Science Week 2013 was exploring the XTRA-ordinary.We were invited to explore, investigate and learn more about the amazing scientific things happening around us in our everyday lives.

We investigated what do you think will happen if you roll a marble along a flat surface so that it hits a second stationary marble?

Science Week
On Wednesday, as part of Science Week we were treated to a visit by Micheal Burke. He taught us about decidious and evergreen trees. We also learnt some weather lore signs and dates to watch out for.
14th December- shortest afternoon
21st December- shortest day
6th January- Cock's step (each day gets longer y the amount of time it takes a cock to take a step)
1st February- First day of spring
